The government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan will leave no stone unturned in providing basic facilities to the people coming to the holy land of Fatehgarh Sahib. Accordingly, Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa today laid the foundation stone of the toilet block to be prepared at a cost of Rs 7.46 crore for the convenience of the devotees near Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib.

Jimpa said that daily many devotees come to Fatehgarh Sahib to pay homage to the martyrdom of Baba Zorawar Singh, Baba Fateh Singh and Mata Gujri Ji, the younger sons of Sarbansdani Shri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. In Shahidi Sabha, this number reaches lakhs. Seeing this, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann had announced the construction of a toilet block in the month of July last year. Giving practical form to this announcement, the foundation stone of the toilet block has been laid today. Gimpa said that 21 toilet blocks will be constructed under this project in which 441 toilets, 126 urinals and 126 washbasins and 315 bathrooms will be constructed.

He said that the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan will not allow any kind of trouble to the people coming from abroad on the land of Fatehgarh Sahib. Jimpa said that the example of martyrdom of the younger Sahibzades is not found anywhere in the history of the world and the development of this land with their martyrdom is being done by the Punjab government on a priority basis.

Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Jimpa said that this toilet block will be built in a modern way. He thanked the president and members of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee for their support. On this occasion, Gimpa paid obeisance at Gurdwara Sri Fatehgarh Sahib and SGPC at Gurdwara Sahib. He was honored by Jathedar Karnail Singh Panjoli, former Interim Committee Member, by presenting him with Siropao.

Constituency MLA Advocate Lakhveer Singh Rai has specially thanked Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan for the toilet block being built for the Sangat coming to Fatehgarh Sahib. He said that the Punjab government is committed to the all-round development of the constituency and considering the religious and historical importance of this town, development will be accelerated here.

Deputy Commissioner Parneet Shergill said that along with the announcement of construction of toilet block by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, widening and strengthening of five roads leading to Gurdwara Shri Fatehgarh Sahib at a cost of Rs. 8.17 crore was also announced. The work is complete.
