The accused has been identified as Gurcharanjit Singh alias Gopi, who runs a cafe near an automatic driving test track center in Jalandhar. The accused agent has been arrested on the complaint of Daljit Singh, a resident of village Bibari, district Kapurthala.
Giving information in this regard, the official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that the complainant had filed a complaint at the Police Station Vigilance Bureau, Jalandhar Range that the agent had demanded a bribe of Rs 1200 in exchange for issuing his heavy driving license without giving any driving test.
The spokesperson said that after the preliminary investigation of this complaint, the Vigilance Bureau team arrested the said agent on the spot after accepting a bribe. In this regard, a case has been registered against the agent under the Prevention of Corruption Act and further action has been taken.
