Position of social service carer at the Greek Council for Refugees

Specifically, the ESP announces the position of coordinator of the Social Service based in Athens, with a fixed-term employment contract.

THE position reports to the Director of the E.S.P.

The Greek Council for Refugees (E.S.P.) is a Non-Governmental Organization. It was founded in 1989 and is an Association recognized as Specially Charitable. It is included, among other things, in the Registers of the competent Ministries, has Consultative Status in the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and is an operational partner of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

Responsibilities

• Participates in the Management team and collaborates with the Director, and the other Coordinators on issues related to the proper operation and implementation of the ESP’s goals. Supervises compliance with internal regulations, directives and procedures.
• Recommends the formation of the operational planning and directions of the Social Service in collaboration with the departments and the Director to the Board of Directors.
• He has the scientific supervision of all projects related to social services and participates with this role in the planning and monitoring/evaluation of the corresponding interventions implemented by the ESP, in collaboration with the respective Project Manager.
• Participates in the recruitment process related to the staffing of the HR in accordance with the organization’s internal procedures. Supervises and supervises sub-coordinators/women of the Service and provides guidance according to their area of ​​work.
• He is responsible for the scientific supervision and support of all Social Service workers.
• Evaluates the effectiveness and performance of KY employees based on the objectives of the programs and the responsibilities assigned to them. He/she is responsible for the work plan of the staff and the goals of the department, the description of the responsibilities of each position and the training of new employees.
• Represents the ESP in meetings with other NGOs or representatives of services and structures, workshops, days, conferences, lectures inside and outside Greece in matters of his/her competence. He also represents the ESP in the media. Develops and maintains contacts with public authorities and other bodies in Greece and abroad. Takes care of networking and cultivating cooperative relationships with NGOs and INGOs in his/her areas of competence.
• He is a member of the ESP crisis management team.

The necessary qualifications

• University degree in Social Work, Social Policy and Management, Sociology or other related social sciences
• Proven professional experience in a corresponding coordinating position of at least five years
• Master’s Degree in areas of activity of the ESP, social protection, social administration, business administration, etc.
• Experience in asylum and integration of vulnerable groups
• Excellent oral and written knowledge of English
• Excellent computer skills
• Fluency in communication, teamwork and ability to work effectively under pressure
• Methodology and organization
