Nawanshahr Police has got great success. Police have busted an interstate gang supplying illegal arms. According to the information, the police have arrested a member of this gang along with 10 pistols.

In this regard, SSP Dr. Akhil Chowdhury said that the arrested accused has been identified as Balkaran Singh alias Roy (24 years) son of Narinder Singh, resident of Village Thana, Police Station Garhshankar, District Hoshiarpur.

During the preliminary investigation it was revealed that Arun Kumar alias Mani son of Yashpal resident of Babu police station Haroli District Una (Himachal Pradesh) who is currently lodged in Central Jail Ludhiana. Main is the leader of this gang.

Many criminal cases are registered against him in Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, SAS Nagar, Jalandhar, Rupnagar and Una, Chapar and Haryana districts of Himachal Pradesh. He supplies illegal arms in Punjab and Himachal Pradesh area.

The arrested alleged accused Balkaran Singh was in jail in a smuggling case, during which he came in contact with Arun Kumar alias Mani. Arun had asked Balkaran Singh to bring the consignment of illegal weapons from Madhya Pradesh and supply the consignment to different areas of Punjab and Himachal Pradesh.

Arun provided money to Balkaran Singh through Paytm for this work and the remaining amount was to be paid after the delivery was completed. Further investigation is going on regarding other persons involved in the gang. Three cases have been registered against Balkaran Singh under NDPS. While 10 different cases are registered against Arun.
