Chandigarh Police has achieved great success by busting the inter-state extortion racket. Eight people have been arrested in connection with an inter-state extortion racket in Punjab’s SS Nagar district. The DGP of Punjab has shared this information on Twitter.
The DGP tweeted that the SSnagar police busted an inter-state extortion racket and arrested eight accused. These criminals were active in the tri-city i.e. Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula areas. He also said that they were members of the Prince Rana group, an affiliate of the Bambiha group active in the tri-city region and was involved in all inter-state extortion.
It should be said that the DGI of Punjab also said that further investigation in the case has revealed other members of the gang. He said that further investigation is still going on in this racket. More members of the gang have also been identified and will soon be arrested to break the backbone of active extortionists from Canada. The DIG said that the arrested people have a criminal record and an FIR has been lodged against them in Haryana as well.
