A drug addict husband killed his 50-year-old wife with a sharp weapon in Dhyanpur village of Batala. After the incident, the accused husband escaped from the spot.
The woman’s son admitted her to Civil Hospital Batala in an injured condition where the doctors declared her brought dead. The deceased has been identified as Ram. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and took possession of the body.
The deceased’s son Vikas said that he had gone out and his mother Rama and father Arun Kumar were alone in the house. His father was suspicious of his mother.
He often quarreled with them about this matter. Several times his relatives tried to pacify his father, but his father did not stop fighting.
Vikas said that his father was addicted to drugs. His mother used to stop him from doing so. On Monday, her father, in a state of intoxication, attacked her mother with sharp weapons and killed her and himself escaped from the spot. He has urged the police to take strict action against his father.
Speaking about the incident, Dr. Swati, who is on duty at Civil Hospital Batala, said that his wife Rama died due to the attack by her husband with a sharp weapon. The police have been informed. He said that the post-mortem process is being conducted.
