Chandigarh : Senior Congress leader and Leader of Opposition Pratap Singh Bajwa met Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Parohit regarding the Punjab minister’s video case. After which, while talking to the media, Bajwa said that my fellow MLA Sukhpal Singh Khaira is being implicated in several criminal cases on the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Bajwa said that Khaira had recently brought a video of the minister sexually abusing him in the public domain and Khaira had recently submitted the video to Governor Banwari Lal Purohit and urged the Chandigarh Police to investigate it.
Bajwa said that a letter was also written by the Governor of Punjab regarding this matter, in which it was said that action should be taken against the cabinet minister. He said that the witness in this case approached the Scheduled Caste Commission after which a three-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed under the leadership of DIG Narendra Bhargava to investigate the allegations against the Punjab minister.
Bajwa demanded that the minister be removed from the cabinet. He also said that the minister should be arrested immediately. He said that now we have come to know that the Punjab Police is preparing to register two more baseless and false criminal cases to intimidate Sukhpal Singh Khaira and suppress his voice on the behest of the Chief Minister.
He said that false cases are being found against Khaira. Bajwa has demanded security for Sukhpal Khaira. Along with this, he also took up the case of Amritsar blasts with the Governor. He questioned the government and said that despite the presence of so many police in the state, if we cannot keep Sri Harmandir Sahib safe, it proves that the Punjab government and the Punjab police are failing in this matter.
