Pabra water supply project of Patiala will be done soon to the people: Bram Shankar Jimpa

Patiala’s Pabra Water Supply Project: Water Supply and Sanitation Minister Bram Shankar Jimpa visited the canal water based project Pabra of Patiala district along with top officials. Meanwhile, he reviewed the progress of the project and issued necessary guidelines.

Principal Secretary of Water Supply and Sanitation Department D.K. Tiwari and Head of Department Mohammad Ishfaq told Bram Shankar Gimpa that the canal water based drinking water project being constructed at village Pabra is almost ready and final touches are being given to it. Gimpa said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will be requested to inaugurate this project.

Gimpa directed the officials to complete the Pabra project soon and said that it is the priority of the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to provide uninterrupted supply of clean water to the people of Punjab and for this purpose the Pabra project should be completed on time. He said that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has been advocating even before entering politics that providing clean water to villages should be the priority of all governments. For this purpose, Bhagwant Mann has been personally visiting the villages of the state, especially the border areas.

He said that it would be a matter of honor to inaugurate the Pabra project at the hands of the Chief Minister. The total cost of Pabra water supply project is Rs 120.60 crore and it will benefit 112 villages of Rajpura, Patiala and Sarhand. 1 lakh 30 thousand 159 population of 21,693 houses will be supplied with clean water.

It may be mentioned that the quality of ground water in these villages is bad and it has high amount of fluoride, nitrate and heavy metal. After the start of the said project, these villages will get clean and pure water supply.
