Congress MLA Parhat Singh cast his vote, claimed victory
Voting for the Jalandhar Lok Sabha by-election has started. Voting started at 8 am and will continue till 6 pm. AAP candidate Sushil Rinku, who came to vote, hit back at Congress candidate Karamjit Kaur Chowdhury for calling him a traitor. Rinku said – he cheated. In 9 years he invested all the money of his fund in Phillaur Assembly instead of all 9 assembly constituencies to strengthen the political career of son Vikramjit Chaudhary.
1972 polling stations have been built in this Lok Sabha seat with 9 assembly constituencies, on which 16 lakh 21 thousand voters of the district will choose the new member of Parliament.
Santokh Singh Chaudhary, Member of Parliament from Jalandhar, died of a heart attack during Rahul Gandhi’s visit to India in January this year. After which the by-election is taking place here. Counting of votes will be held on May 13.
