Odisha train accident death toll is 278

CBI has started investigation into Odisha train accident. A CBI team visited the spot on Monday evening. On the other hand, out of 278 people who died in the accident, 101 bodies have not been identified.

DRM Bhubaneswar Rinkesh Roy said on Tuesday that 900 of the 1100 injured have been discharged after treatment. Around 200 people are under treatment in different hospitals of the state.

Railways in collaboration with Odisha Government has released online links rcodisha.nic.in, www.bmc.gov.in to help the families of those affected in the accident.

In these, the pictures of the deceased and the list of the passengers admitted in all the hospitals have been given. The helpline number 1929 issued by BMC has received more than 200 calls so far. The bodies are being identified and handed over to the heirs.

Railways have ordered to improve the system so that accidents like Balasore do not happen in future. Everything from the signal to the locking system will be checked. Along with this, all the equipment installed in the station master and control room center will be reviewed.
