NRI of Punjab Affairs Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal gave this information and said that under the guidelines of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, NRI January 05, 2024 has been fixed for the election of the President of Sabha Punjab.

The cabinet minister said that Punjab’s NRI The Sabha works as an agency of the state government for the welfare of the NRIs of the state. He said that the tenure of the president of this assembly has ended on March, 2022. He said that most of the migrant Punjabis usually come to India in the month of December and they stay here till March. He said that this is the right time to hold elections.

Dhaliwal said that NRI The Sabha works under the patronage of the Government of Punjab and the main objective of the Sabha is to work for the welfare and interests of the NRIs of Punjab. He said that NRI The main objective of Sabha Punjab is to redress the grievances of migrant Punjabis, protect their rights and properties.

It is worth mentioning that NRI Sabha Punjab is a society registered under the Societies Registration Act 1860 with the approval of the Government of Punjab and the Chief Minister of Punjab is the Chief Patron of this Sabha. He said that the commissioner is the chairman of the Jalandhar division, council while all the deputy commissioners of the state are NRIs. He is the chairman of the district units of the council.
