Anti Corruption Policy: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested Kanungo Gurwinder Singh red-handed while taking a bribe of Rs.
Giving information in this regard, the spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that the said Kanungo has been arrested on the complaint of Tarsem Singh, a resident of Munak.
Giving further information, he said that the complainant has approached the Vigilance Bureau and alleged that the said Kanungo Nagar Panchayat is demanding a bribe of Rs. He further stated that the complainant had already paid Rs 10,000 as the first installment of bribe to the accused Kanungo.
After confirming his complaint, the Vigilance Bureau team laid a trap and the accused was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 and the tainted amount was recovered from him in the presence of two government witnesses. He further said that the vigilance team also recovered Rs 10,000 as the first installment from the accused Kanungo.
He said that a case has been registered against the accused at Patiala police station of the Vigilance Bureau under the Prevention of Corruption Act and further proceedings have been initiated.
