Punjab CM Mann Live: The meeting between Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar by Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Purohit regarding Punjab University has ended. In the hour-long meeting chaired by Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal presented his side, but the Punjab Chief Minister rejected all the arguments and refused to participate. Now the next meeting on this issue has been called on July 3 at 11 am.

Let it be said that like the water issues, this meeting was also requested. After this meeting Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann held a press conference.

After the meeting, CM Mann said in a press conference-

Bansilal was the Chief Minister of Haryana in 1970. He voluntarily took out a part of the university and merged the colleges with Kurukshetra University. At present, Punjab is giving 40 percent funds to the University. Himachal too voluntarily gave up its share. After this, the game of making PU a central university began.

Mann showed a letter written by former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on 26 August 2008. In which he said that there should be no objection regarding making PU a central university.

After this I wrote to Home Minister Amit Shah not to make it a central body. Then on 30 June 2022, the Punjab Assembly passed a resolution saying that the Center was trying to infiltrate the PU but it would remain an inter-state body.

In August 2022, Congress women legislators brought a proposal in the Haryana Legislative Assembly that colleges in Haryana should be recognized by Punjab University.

Which was unanimously passed. Maan said that there is nothing wrong in this from our side. He also taunted whether the people of Haryana could not make Kurukshetra University such that students are seeking degrees from Punjab University.
