New Delhi. Delhi Police has arrested Sahil Gehlot’s (24) father, two of his relatives and two friends in connection with Nikki Yadav’s murder. The police gave this information on Saturday. Sahil Gehlot has been arrested by the police for allegedly killing his girlfriend Nikki Yadav.

Special Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ravindra Yadav said, “Gehlot’s father Virender Singh, two brothers (relatives) Ashish and Naveen and Sahil’s two friends Amar and Lokesh were thoroughly interrogated and their role in connection with the murder was confirmed.” And after being detected, he was arrested. He said that Naveen, a constable in Delhi Police, is a relative of the main accused Sahil Gehlot. Gehlot is already in police custody and has been thoroughly interrogated.

After his arrest, he confessed to killing his alleged girlfriend Nikki Yadav as she was pressurizing him to marry her. According to the police, both got married in 2020 itself. The Special Commissioner said that she was actually his wife and not a ‘live-in partner’. The special commissioner said that therefore she was requesting him not to perform the marriage arranged by his family on February 10 with another woman.

According to the police, when Gehlot could not persuade Nikki Yadav to agree to his marriage with the said woman, he conspired to kill her and involved others in it. “Subsequently, Sahil Gehlot executed his conspiracy and killed her and informed the other co-accused persons about the same on the same day i.e. February 10 and then all of them attended the marriage ceremony,” the officer said.

Police said several other charges including criminal conspiracy, destruction of evidence and harboring a criminal have been added to the FIR. Information about the incident came to light on February 14, ‘Valentine’s Day’, four days after it took place when Gehlot confessed to his crime in police custody and the police recovered the body from the fridge of the hotel where he was kept.
