Amritsar: Sri Akal Takht Sahib’s newly appointed Jathedar Singh Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh will assume his new post on June 22. This information has been shared by the Shiromani Committee. The Shiromani Committee shared a post on Facebook and wrote that Singh Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh, who was appointed Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib by the Inner Committee of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, will take over the service on June 22.
Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami, president of the Shiromani Committee, said that a ceremony has been held at Sri Akal Takht Sahib on June 22 at 10 am at Sri Akal Takht Sahib regarding Singh Sahib Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh’s assumption of service as Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib, in which all sect organizations, Nihang Singh parties, Sikh sects, Gurmati mints, representatives of Sikh organizations including Panthak leaders, Saints and Sangat will participate.
Advocate Dhami urged the cult personalities to attend the function. Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Shiromani Committee, Pratap Singh said that preparations are being made by the Shiromani Committee for the service maintenance event, in this regard, letters are being sent by the manager of Sri Darbar Sahib.
Let it be known that recently, Giani Harpreet Singh was removed from the post of Executive Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib in an emergency meeting of the Interim Board by Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC). But the throne will remain the Jathedar of Damdama Sahib. In his place, Gyan Raghbir Singh, the Jathedar of Takht Kesgarh Sahib, was appointed Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
