New orders have been issued for government schools in Punjab. Let us tell you that from now on all government schools in Punjab will have biometric attendance of teachers. In this regard, the education department has issued instructions to the district education officers. A notification has also been issued in this regard.
According to this notification, attendance of all employees will now be taken through biometric attendance system. Even if employees attend school on Sundays or holidays, they have to mark attendance on the BAS. It will be mandatory.
It has been said in the order that online biometric attendance should be done instead of attending on the register. It is being told that these orders have been issued because the school teachers are not abandoning the process of attending on the register. Due to which the education department is repeatedly issuing letters.
It is clear that the Punjab government is emphasizing on making the BAS system effective. Along with this, many other changes in school education are also being claimed. Under this direction, school principals and headmasters are being sent to Singapore and IIM Ahmedabad for special training.
