NCCF sold 560 tons of tomatoes in 15 days

Because the price of tomato has reached 100 to 300 rupees in many states. But in the meantime, the cooperative organization National Cooperative Consumer Federation of India (NCCF) has given a big concession in the prices of tomatoes. Due to this he sold more than 560 tons of tomatoes.

The NCCF said on Sunday that it has sold 560 tonnes of tomatoes at subsidized rates in the last 15 days in Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. Due to heavy rains in the major tomato producing states, the price of tomatoes in the retail market has not yet come down. Due to this, NCCF continues to sell tomatoes at subsidized rates. The NCCF started selling tomatoes at a subsidized rate of Rs 90 per kg on July 14, which was later reduced to Rs 70 per kg.

In these three states, tomato is being sold at 70 rupees per kg

The federation has been selling tomatoes at Rs 70 per kg in Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh for the past one week. NCCF is selling tomatoes at subsidized rates on behalf of the Central Government to provide inflation relief to consumers. On the other hand, NAFED is selling tomatoes at subsidized rates in Bihar and other states.

NCCF Managing Director Anees Joseph Chandra said, “We have sold around 560 tonnes of tomatoes till July 28 in Delhi, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh. The sale is ongoing in all three states.

Ahmedabad – 140 rupees per kg
Kolkata – Rs 120 per kg
Lucknow- 70 to 120 rupees per kg
Surat – 140 rupees per kg
Kochi – Rs 125 per kg
Hyderabad – 120 to 140 rupees per kg
Bhubaneswar- 100 to 130 rupees per kg

How is NCCF selling tomatoes?

NCCF is selling tomatoes in the National Capital Region through mobile vans, selected outlets of the central warehouse and the government-backed Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC).
