More than $2 million worth of drugs seized in Calgary Punjabi Akhbaar

Calgary (Punjabi Newspaper Bureau) Three Calgarians are facing charges after police seized more than $2 million in drugs during two recent police operations.

The investigation began after the police received an anonymous tip from Crime Stoppers about a man involved in drug trafficking in the North East area of โ€‹โ€‹the city.

Investigating officers arrested a man during a traffic stop and searched two homes and another vehicle. During which a total of $733,500 worth of drugs were seized. including 5.5 kg of meth, 1.3 kg of MDMA; 1.2 kilograms of fentanyl; and contains 39.8 grams of cocaine.

In this regard, Arshman Salim Abdullah, aged 29, is facing several charges including smuggling, possession of dangerous weapons. Now he has to be produced in the court on November 10.

In a second investigation, officers say a man failed to provide them with a license after a car accident in August. The police suspect that there were drugs in the vehicle of the said person. Later on Oct. 20, investigators executed search warrants on the man’s vehicle and home in Erin Woods. During the search, investigators seized 15.3 kilograms of cocaine and 2.3 kilograms of fentanyl with an estimated street value of $1,888,2310. As a result, Elroy Brooks, 46, and Katy Hagan, 37, face trafficking charges.
