Calgary 24/10/2023 (Punjabi Newspaper Bureau) Since yesterday i.e. Monday, the city of Calgary has been surrounded by a snow storm. Everything looks snowy as far as you can see. Although Calgarians have been coping with such snowstorms every year, the sudden change in the mood of the weather immediately after the summer season creates difficulties. When the motorists running at their own speed on the roads had to face the icy roads, it was only natural that accidents would occur. Yesterday, 122 motor vehicle accidents were reported in Calgary between 4 and 9 pm. Vehicles carrying fire brigade, police and medical services were often seen running around. In the evening, those coming home from their work reached home with a delay of about an hour. The Alberta Motor Association (AMA) reported a 17-hour wait for towing vehicles lying on the side of the road, while a 7-hour wait for a battery boost or gas delivery was received. A school bus was also reported to have rolled over on Highway 2 near Didsbury near Calgary due to bad weather, injuring five students and one adult. The daytime temperature today was minus 10 which felt like minus 15 due to wind blowing at 10 kmph.
