22-year-old Gurpreet Singh of Gurne Khurd, a village near Lehragaga, was not married and had returned home on leave from the army. The father of the deceased, Gurjit Singh, said that his son Gurpreet Singh and Lakhwinder Singh Gurne Khurd were riding on their motorcycle and coming from Alisher to Gurne Khurd along the canal tracks. His friend Jagsir Singh Deepa was also coming behind him on another motorcycle. When Gurpreet Singh and his friend Lakhwinder Singh reached the bridge of Alisher Canal, the motorcycle suddenly slipped. Due to which soldier Gurpreet Singh fell into the canal. The dead body of Gurpreet has been recovered from the bridge of Khudan Kalan canal in village.
Mourning in the whole village
The death of Gurjit Singh, the soldier son of the village, is not only in his family but the entire village is in a bad state. No one is believing that the brave young man of the village will go like this. The father wanted the son to serve the country and fight the enemies firmly, but he did not know that the son would leave his dream unfulfilled.
