Mercury reached 41 degrees in Punjab, yellow alert issued

The mercury reached 41 degrees in Punjab on Friday. Due to this, the condition of the people was miserable due to the scorching heat. Faridkot recorded the highest maximum temperature in the state at 40.9 degrees Celsius as people will soon get relief from this heat. The Meteorological Department has predicted a change in the weather curve from April 16 due to the influence of a new Western Disturbance.

The department has issued a three-day yellow alert from April 16. Meanwhile, winds will blow at a speed of 30-40 km with strong lightning and rain is also likely at some places. A further increase of 1.1 degrees was recorded in the maximum temperature of Punjab which was 4.2 degrees above normal.

After Faridkot, the maximum temperature of Ludhiana was 40.7 degrees, Patiala 39.1 degrees, Bathinda 39.8, Fatehgarh Sahib 38.8, Ferozepur 38.6, Hoshiarpur 39.2, Amritsar 39.0, Barnala 39.7 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature jumped by 0.6 degrees which was 2.4 degrees above normal. The lowest temperature of 18 degrees was recorded in Ropar.
