Meeting with Education Department to implement ECCE policy

Punjab ECCE Policy: Minister of Social Security, Women and Child Development Dr. Under the chairmanship of Baljit Kaur, an important meeting was held with the Education Department at its office, Punjab Civil Secretariat, Chandigarh to effectively implement the Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) policy in the state.

Cabinet Minister Dr. gave more information in this regard. Baljeet Kaur said that the period of 0-6 years is very important for every child when they need physical, emotional, psychological and social support the most as it lays the foundation for their future. In this context, ECCE emphasizes aspects of health care, nutrition, play ways and early learning in a protective environment that is extremely beneficial for the holistic development of children.

He said that in view of the new education policy, 2020, the updated policy is to be prepared by July 31, 2023, after making necessary amendments by the Department of Education and the Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development to make necessary changes in the ECCE policy of the state.

On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Social Security, Women and Child Development Raji P. Srivastava, Director Madhvi Kataria, DPO Amarjit Singh, Sukhjit Singh and representatives of the Education Department were specially present.
