Maruti said that its total sales last month included domestic sales of 1,50,823 units, sales of 4,291 units to other OEMs and exports of 17,207 units. The company sold 1,01,773 units in the mini and compact segments. In the utility vehicle segment, the company’s sales of Brezza, Ertiga, S-Cross, XL6 and Grand Vitara stood at 33,550 units last month. This is much higher than the sales of 25,360 units in the same month last year. Between April and February in the current financial year Maruti sold 3,29,075 units in this segment. The figure stood at 2,65,700 units in the same period last year. Last week, the company had revealed that its Eeco van has crossed the sales mark of one million units. Its sales started 12 years ago. The company claims that the Echo has a market share of over 94 percent in this segment. This van is available in five seater, seven seater, cargo, tourer and ambulance variants.

The company’s senior executive officer, Shashank Srivastava, had said that the Eeco is dominating the van segment and has a market share of over 94 per cent. “It has been a trusted choice of over one million customers, meeting their changing needs over the years.
