Mansa: A farmer troubled by debt committed suicide

Mansa: The series of suicides by farmers continues. Every day some such unfortunate news comes out. One such case has come to light from Kotdharmu village of Mansa district, where a farmer committed suicide due to debt distress.

The deceased farmer has been identified as Kisan Kaur Singh son of Joginder Singh. According to the information received, he had a debt of around 12 lakhs from banks and other people, due to which he was often troubled. Due to this mental distress, Kaur Singh took a terrible step and committed suicide by hanging herself from a tree near the wall of the house.

Due to the death of the farmer, there is an atmosphere of mourning in the entire family and the village and the Punjab Kisan Union has demanded that all the debt of the farmer be waived and also requested compensation from the state government.

DSP of Mansa Sanjeev Goyal said that the family of Kisan Kaur Singh of village Kotdharmu has written a statement that she committed suicide due to debt, on which the police have implemented Section 174 and the body was handed over to the heirs after post-mortem. is
