There is news of relief for Punjab, which has been struggling with floods for the past few days. The flood gates have been closed by Bhakra Dam. Currently, the flow of water in Bhakra Dam has returned to normal. Considering the water level, the management board has decided to close them.

Earlier, the flood gates of Bhakra Dam were opened on August 14 in the evening. After this, there was a flood-like situation in 25 to 30 villages around the river in Rupnagar. There has been a loss of crores of rupees including farms, roads. About which there was a huge protest among the people.

The farmers’ organizations held a press conference and expressed their apprehension of a loss of Rs 100 crore in Rupnagar and demanded compensation to the people. Meanwhile, social organizations including the administration continued the relief work.
