Animal Husbandry Minister of Punjab Laljit Singh Bhullar today assured the veterinary doctors of the department to restore pay parity. During the meeting with the delegation of Joint Action Committee of Vets for Pay Parity at his official residence. While Laljit Singh Bhullar agreed with the demand to remove the disparity in the salary of veterinary doctors, he also asked to take the veterinary doctors along with him and hold a panel meeting with the finance minister regarding this demand. S. Bhullar said that the government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is committed to address the legitimate demands of the employees on a priority basis.
Convenor of Action Committee Dr. Rajinder Singh, co-convener Dr. Gurcharan Singh informed the cabinet minister that during the previous Congress government, the pay parity of veterinary doctors with medical officers was broken for the last 45 years, in which the entry scale of veterinary officers was reduced from 56100 to 47600.
