Chandigarh: The Congress has demanded a CBI inquiry into the video case of Cabinet Minister Lalchand Kataruchak. Congress MLA Pratap Singh Bajwa has written a letter to Punjab Governor Banwari Lal Parohit in this regard. He asked the Governor to take suo moto from the Chief Justice of the High Court.

In a tweet, he asked the Hon’ble Governor of Punjab to refer the matter to the Hon’ble Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court for justice in the case of Minister Lal Chand Kataruchak to be treated as a Suo Motu Writ Petition. .

Bajwa said that he has also demanded an impartial investigation by the CBI in this matter. Bajwa said that even after the scientific verification of the authenticity of the video at the level of the Hon’ble Governor, Chief Minister Mann is dragging his feet and not taking any action against the tainted minister.

On the other hand, taking cognizance of the complaint following Kataruchak’s alleged ‘objectionable’ video, National Scheduled Castes Commission (NCSC) chief Vijay Sampla on Friday issued a notice to the state government seeking a report on action.

In a video message and a letter to the NCSC, the complainant has demanded justice and security, accusing the minister of making threats.
The Commission has asked the Punjab Chief Secretary and Director General of Police to investigate the matter and submit the action report immediately by post or email. The commission has also asked the authorities to provide protection to the victim.

Sampla said that if the action taken report is not received within the stipulated time, the commission can exercise the powers of a civil court under Article 338 of the Constitution and summon the officials to appear before the commission in person in Delhi. can issue
