Stubble Burning: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhawan appealed to the farmers of the state not to set fire to the grain of wheat. He said that the trend of setting fire is polluting the environment and spreading serious diseases.

Sandhavan said that the entire machinery of the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is trying to reduce the incidents of crop residue burning, but without the cooperation of farmers, the trend of burning cannot be stopped. He said that due to cases of crop residue burning, the environment is becoming very polluted due to which people are suffering from terrible diseases.

Kultar Singh Sandhwan said that those farmers who did not burn the residue of paddy or wheat crop are being honored by the Punjab government and various district administrations. The speaker appealed to the farmers not to burn crop residues for the healthy future of children and youth and to cooperate with the government for its management.

He urged the farmers to plant more plants and said that humans need the purest environment to live on earth. Let it be said that about 100 farmers of different districts of the state who did not burn paddy stubble and wheat grain for many years and directly sowed paddy were also honored in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha in the past.
