Kotakpura shooting case: Anticipatory bail application of three police officers including former DGP Sumedh Saini rejected

The court of Faridkot Additional District and Sessions Judge Rajiv Kalra has rejected the anticipatory bail application of three police officers including the then DGP Sumedh Singh Saini in the Kotakpura shooting incident.

Apart from DGP Saini, the bail petitions of then IG Paramraj Singh Umranangal, then SSP Moga Charanjit Singh Sharma were also rejected. Apart from Sumedh Saini, Umranangal, another SHO Gurdeep Singh has been granted bail in the firing case (case registered against the protesters).

It may be mentioned that Sukhbir Singh Badal got a big relief from the High Court in the Kotakpura shooting case. The High Court has granted his anticipatory bail (Bail to Sukhbir Badal). Let it be known that after receiving court summons in the Kotakpura shooting incident, former Deputy Chief Minister of Punjab Sukhbir Singh Badal has filed a petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court for anticipatory bail.

Earlier, the Faridkot court rejected the bail application of Sukhbir Badal. The court has issued a notice to Sukhbir Singh Badal and former Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and asked them to appear personally in the court on March 23. Parkash Singh Badal has been granted anticipatory bail.
