According to nutritionist Poonam Duneja, the properties of allicin are easily modifiable. So it gets converted into other compounds of sulphur. In such a situation, the medicinal properties of garlic increase even more. Due to which white blood cells increase and immunity is boosted. White blood cells are helpful in fighting infections like cold-cough, viral flu, cold and phlegm.

At the same time, garlic contains antiviral agents, which reduce the average length of cough symptoms by up to 70 percent. In chronic cough and viral conditions, garlic extract works very effectively and shortens the life span of these problems.

Use garlic in this way in cold cough

Crushing 2 cloves of garlic and eating it on an empty stomach in the morning can prepare the body to fight infection.

If your child is suffering from viral infection, then cut 3 to 5 cloves of garlic in half and put them in a thread and wear them around their neck. By doing this, they will keep smelling of garlic and will help in getting relief from cold and cough infection.

These people should not take garlic in case of cold

If you are allergic to garlic, do not consume it in case of cold and cough. This can make the situation worse.

If you have problems digesting garlic, never take more than 2 cloves of garlic. Otherwise, bloating, gas etc. may have to be faced.

The effect of garlic is hot, so if you are going through menopause, avoid consuming it.
