Ferozepur, 23 August 2023: ‘Khedan Watan Punjab’ was launched under the direction of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and the leadership of Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Khair to create a healthy and colorful Punjab and make the state a leading state in sports. MLA Ferozepur Urban Ranbir Singh Bhullar, MLA Ferozepur Rural Mr. Rajnish Dahiya, MLA Guruharshay Fauja Singh Sarari and Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman IAS when the torch march reached Ferozepur to create awareness about season-2 sports. On this occasion, MLAs Ranbir Singh Bhullar, Rajnish Dahiya and Fauja Singh Sarari welcomed all the sports lovers, players and coaches and said that by connecting the children and youth of Punjab with sports, the creation of a healthy, fair and colorful Punjab and the state should become a country in sports. The ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Ki’ started by the Punjab government from last year under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Khair to make it a leading state received a great response in which a large number of sportsmen participated. He said that Bhagwant Mann has provided a good platform for the sportsmen to become international level players with the ‘Har Pind Ek Khel Maidan’ campaign started by Bhagwant Mann and started from Ferozepur.
Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman invited more and more sportspersons to participate in the ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Ki’ and said that in these sports events games will be conducted at block, district and state level and cash prizes will also be given to the players. He appealed to all the sportsmen of the district to register online to participate in the games of Punjab.
He said that last year the first season of ‘Khedan Watan Punjab Ki’ had ended in Ludhiana, due to which the torch was started from Ludhiana before the second season of the Mashal March and after this torch marched throughout Punjab, it will be held at Bathinda on August 29. will reach where the second season of the Games will be inaugurated. The torch march at each district headquarters will be attended by local eminent sportspersons, sports department personnel, local representatives and district administration officials.
On this occasion, MLA Ranbir Singh Bhullar, Mr. Rajnish Dahiya, Fauja Singh Sarari and Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman flagged off the torch march to Tarn Taran district and this torch march passed from Tarn Taran and Amritsar to Gurdaspur, Pathankot on August 24.
