Suspended employees will be reinstated, CM Hon’s meeting on September 29

The strike of PRTC and Panbus has ended since morning in Punjab. Some of the demands of the contract employees have been accepted by the Transport Minister of Punjab. While there will be a meeting with Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann again on September 29 regarding other demands.

Punjab Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar on Wednesday said to approve a five percent increase in the salaries of contract employees. Apart from this, conductors, drivers and other employees suspended for participating in the strike will also be reinstated in the next 15 days.

Jam of 2800 buses
Panbus and PRTC contract employees are on strike across Punjab this morning. They stopped around 2800 buses. Due to this, the bus passengers in the entire state had to face a lot of trouble. Roadways employees are angry with the Punjab government for continuously extending the meeting time. Apart from this, long route bus services of four states including Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu were also stopped, which have now been resumed.

The Minister of Transport had given time for the meeting
State President of PRTC Contract Workers Union Resham Singh Gill said that he has given time for a meeting with Punjab Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar at 12.30 pm. The union made it clear that only verbal assurances will not be relied upon this time.

The government was giving the date
Depot Head Jatinder Singh said that when the employees asked to celebrate Black Day on August 15 and to answer questions to the Chief Minister of Punjab, the Patiala administration had scheduled a meeting for August 25. After this, the meeting was to be held on September 14, now the third meeting has been fixed on September 29.
