Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will be seen playing volleyball with the youth at the opening ceremony of the season-2 of ‘Khedan Watan Punjab ki’ being conducted by the Punjab Sports Department in Bathinda. During this time, exhibition matches of volleyball, rugby and tug of war will also be held.
Sports Minister Gurmeet Singh Meet Hare shared this information. The sports minister gave guidelines to all the officials regarding the preparations for the games at Punjab Bhavan. Meet Hare said that the torch relay will reach Bathinda on August 29, where it will be played in season-2.
First, the torch will reach Bathinda after visiting all the districts across the state in the inauguration ceremony at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Sports Stadium in Bathinda. The players of the state will participate in the torch relay and the players will take an oath to play with true sportsmanship.
Meet Hare said that folk singers will perform during the cultural program. Apart from this, Gatka, Gidda, Bhangra, Gymnastics and PT shows will also be held. Former players who have made Punjab famous will also be present as guests.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will formally announce the auspicious start of the Games. This time 35 sports competitions will be organized from block to state level in different 8 age groups.
After reviewing the arrangements in the meeting, the sports minister asked that the activities of the ceremony be organized in the true spirit of sportsmanship. He said that the visitors coming to the stadium should not have any trouble, so that their entry, seating and food should be arranged.
