The corridor of Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib located in Pakistan is starting again today from July 25. After heavy rains, the India-Pakistan border was flooded, and the trip to the Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan was postponed yesterday.

Gurdaspur Deputy Commissioner and Border Range Police DIG Narendra Bhargava inspected the Kartarpur Corridor. After taking stock of the situation, he announced to start the pilgrimage to Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib from July 25. He said that now the situation is completely fine and the religious pilgrimage will start again from tomorrow.

Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal said that the crossing has been opened since Tuesday and 125 pilgrims have received requests. He has appealed to the pilgrims that only the most urgent pilgrims can go for darshan of Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib. Criticizing this, he said that only pilgrims from abroad or convalescents can go there.

The DC said that even though the intersection and zero line have been repaired, still the elderly and health-impaired pilgrims will have to apply again. On the other hand, after the flooding of the low-lying areas of Dera Baba Nanak, the district administration is now engaged in relief work. The relief teams are also continuously contacting the people in the village Ghaniye-ke-Bet area across the Ravi river near Dera Baba Nanak and distributing relief materials to them. The administration is also being supported by BSF personnel in the relief work.

Ashwani Arora, SDM of Dera Baba Nanak said that besides giving food and drink to the people in the affected villages, services are being provided by the teams of the health department by setting up special camps. Animal diseases are being treated by a team of veterinary doctors.
