Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat will vote tomorrow

The campaigning for the Jalandhar by-election ended at 6 pm yesterday. Now tomorrow on May 10 from 8 am to 6 pm, voting will be held for the Lok Sabha seat.

The Punjab government has announced a holiday in government offices, boards, corporations and educational institutions on May 10 in view of the by-elections to be held in the Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat. This holiday has also been declared by the Punjab government under the Negotiable Instruments Act-1881.

Counting of votes will be held on May 13. This seat fell vacant after the death of Congress MP Santokh Singh Chaudhary.

According to the notification issued by the Punjab government in this regard, if any government officer/employee is a voter of Jalandhar Lok Sabha constituency and works in the government offices, boards/corporations and government educational institutions of the state of Punjab, he/she should present his/her voter card to the concerned authority for voting. May take special leave from 10th May, 2023 (Wednesday). This leave will not be deducted from the leave account of officers/employees.
