Indian government banned more than 200 Chinese apps

The government has once again launched a digital surgical strike on Chinese apps. Now citing security, the government has banned more than 200 apps with Chinese links. These apps include 138 betting apps and 94 loan apps. Information has come out from the Ministry of Home Affairs that the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has started the process of banning these apps with Chinese links immediately and on an emergency basis.

According to the report, the Home Ministry started monitoring 288 Chinese loan apps six months ago. Of these, 94 apps are available on the App Store and other apps are working through third party links. According to media reports, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology was instructed by the Ministry of Home Affairs this week to block these apps. After which the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has started the process of blocking these apps.

According to the report, states like Telangana, Odisha and Uttar Pradesh as well as central intelligence agencies have recommended the Union Home Ministry to take action against these apps. After which 138 betting apps and 94 loan apps with these Chinese links have been blocked immediately and on an emergency basis.
