Asia’s biggest aero show ‘Aero India 2023’ has begun in Bangalore, Karnataka. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Aero Show on Monday. This is the 14th edition of the event through which India will showcase its equipment and technologies to partner with foreign companies. Inaugurating the program, PM Modi said that Aero India reflects the new strength and aspirations of India. He said that Tejas aircraft made in India and INS Vikrant are examples of our capability.

Around 809 companies from 98 countries are participating in Aero India 2023. This year’s theme is ‘The Runway to a Billion Opportunities’.

According to the report, although the event will be military-dominated, it will also showcase a number of India-specific technologies. Under the ‘Make in India’ policy, the Modi government is focusing on manufacturers such as Lockheed Martin, Boeing and Airbus. Aero India 2023 is likely to see 251 agreements signed between various Indian and foreign defense companies with an estimated investment of Rs 75,000 crore.

There can also be a big announcement from Air India in this show. It may also announce a possible record deal to buy Airbus SE and nearly 500 jets from Boeing Co worth more than $100 billion. In the opening ceremony, the Chief of the Air Staff Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhary led the Gurukul formation of the mega air show.

US Ambassador Elizabeth Jones is also participating in this aero show. She is leading the largest US delegation ever. This 5-day event will end on February 17. The first three days of this event will be celebrated as Business Day. On the last two days, the public will reach to see this aero show. It is estimated that around 5 lakh visitors can attend the aero show. Lakhs of people will also connect to the aero show through TV and internet.
