Congress president Raja Waring has been made the chairman of the election committee.

Along with this, Navjot Singh Sidhu has also been included in the committee. According to the notification, 27 leaders including Bharat Bhushan Ashu, MP Manish Tiwari and Ravneet Singh Bittu were given places. The committees constituted for Punjab will have 27 permanent members and four special ex-officio members.

Some senior leaders did not get a place in the selection committee, while other leaders from their areas have been given a place. Three leaders from Amritsar parliamentary constituency have been included in the committee, while Congress MP Gurjit Aujla has not been included in the committee.

Similarly, two leaders have been given space in the Khadur Sahib parliamentary seat, but MP Jasbir Dimpa has not been included in the committee. Along with this, Member of Parliament from Faridkot Mohammad Sadiq and Member of Parliament from Fatehgarh Amar Singh are also not included in the committee.

Congress is very serious about Lok Sabha elections. Devendra Yadav was first appointed as the new in-charge of the party in Punjab.

Along with this, election war rooms and committees were formed. Along with this, new faces are now being sought for the Lok Sabha constituencies. Apart from this, the party is also trying to convince the angry people. While some people have also been dismissed due to anti-party activities.

In this committee, the president of the Youth Congress, the head of the major organizations of the party and the president of the Women's State Congress Committee have also been included as special office bearers.
