Gurdaspur Flood News: Four districts of Punjab have come under the grip of flood. Water has entered many villages of Ropar, Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur and Kapurthala. This has happened after the flood gates of Bhakra Dam on Sutlej River and Pong Dam on Beas River were opened.

Due to continuous rain in Himachal, the water in Bhakra Dam is continuously increasing. The water here is only 5 feet below the danger level. Due to this, it has been decided to keep the gates of the dam 8-8 feet open for the next 5 days.

After the release of Pong Dam water in Himachal Pradesh, its effect is being seen in Gurdaspur district where flood-like conditions have arisen. Due to this, the administration has deployed NDRF SDRF teams to rescue people. Gurdaspur Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Agarwal has also issued a toll free number for the security of the people.

On this, people can give information about themselves by calling. It is noteworthy that the old Shala Mukerian Road of Gurdaspur has completely collapsed after the water was released from the Pong Dam on Tuesday afternoon. When the local people got the information about this, they started building a dam.
