Ferozepur Magistrate Rajesh Dhiman, using powers under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Act No. 2 of 1974), has banned ordinary citizens from covering their faces while driving and walking on the road within the limits of Ferozepur.

The District Magistrate said that it has been brought to his attention by the senior police chief of Ferozepur that common people in Ferozepur district cover their faces with cloth while driving or walking, due to which it becomes difficult to identify them.

Let us also mention here that by covering their faces in this way, mischievous anti-social elements can escape from the police by committing any criminal incident. Therefore, in order to prevent this action, in order to ensure the safety of life and property of the common people, orders have been issued to prohibit driving vehicles with face covering and walking with face covering in district Ferozepur. He said that the ban will not apply to persons who wear masks or anything else under medical supervision due to an illness or allergy. These orders will remain in force till 30 November 2023.
