Bureau Report: Among the 5 accused arrested in 3 blasts in Amritsar, the family of Amrik Singh of Gurdaspur village Adia has come forward. The DGP said that Azadbir Singh and Amrik Singh had prepared the bomb in Sri Guru Ram Das Saran together. America Singh’s father Lakhbir Singh said that his son was addicted to drugs, he drank amrit at a young age, but later he fell into bad company and started taking drugs. He had not returned home since February, he had no contact with his family. Amrik Singh used to work as a driver in Gujarat. In May last year, he got married against the will of his family. When the police arrested Amrik Singh in Saran, his wife was also present, the DGP said that the wife was questioned but not arrested. Amrik Singh’s father said that we came to know about his involvement only when the police came to the house and took the elder son along for questioning. Father Lakhbir Singh said that there should be an investigation if the son has done wrong, then he should be punished. On the other hand, mother’s statement is slightly different from father’s.

Mother is not sure
Amrir Singh’s mother is not sure that her son can do such a thing, the mother said that he was caught in bad company and started taking drugs, but he was very devoted to Guru Ghar and he cannot do such an act. He said that it should be investigated, if he has done this then he should be punished. There the villagers revealed about Amrik Singh.

The villagers said that Amrik Singh was addicted to drugs and there was a case of theft of a motorcycle against him and he was absconding. We tried several times to get him on the right track and end the matter by presenting him before the police but he was not improving. The villagers said that what Amrik Singh has done is bad and he should be punished. On the other hand, the village walla has also disclosed about the main accused Azadbir.
Azadbir Singh has been a reader in Tehsil
Due to the actions of the main accused Azadbir Singh, a resident of Baba Bakala Sahib area of Amritsar, his wife left him. Azadbir Singh’s mother was a rank four employee in Baba Bakala Sahib Tehsil. They somehow got him a government job. Azadbir Singh was caught taking bribe 2 times while being the Reader of Tehsil. He was dismissed after a departmental inquiry. Azadbir Singh has 2 siblings who are abroad. The villager says that earlier he used to take drugs but now he had taken amrit.
