In Punjab, the 5th nutrition program has been started to free children, girls and women from malnutrition

The Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, paying special attention to the health of children, girls and women and fighting against malnutrition, is celebrating the 5th Nutrition Fortnight in the state from today, under which different districts of Punjab Activities will be conducted.

Minister of Social Security, Women and Child Development, Dr. Baljit Kaur, while giving further information, said that during this fortnight, children, girls and women should be made healthy and strong without malnutrition, and the message of proper nutrition should be conveyed to every home. He said that during this fortnight, street plays, nutrition fairs, bicycle rallies, dawn visits, free check-up camps related to anemia and many other types of events will be conducted.

He said that the ceremony of adoption of pregnant mothers and the ceremony of giving panjiri to the mothers of newborn children will also be performed.

Dr. Baljit Kaur appealed to the people of the state to ensure maximum participation in the events so that the message of nutritious food can be conveyed from house to house.

The cabinet minister said that proper nutrition means post food and clean water. He said that Punjab was awarded 6th position by the Government of India for its good performance in nutrition.
He said that during the nutrition fortnight, various activities will be conducted in Punjab, the main purpose of which will be to give good health to children, girls and women along with post food.

The Cabinet Minister expressed hope from the officers and employees of the department that they will work hard and diligently during the nutrition fortnight to make the state of Punjab the best place in the whole of India.
