In the case of bike theft 15 days ago in Jalandhar’s Bhargava camp, people caught the thief in front of the police. People did not kill the thief who was caught on Sunday night but instead put necklaces on him. Residents of the area said – the police say that thieves should not be killed. That is why he was garlanded. The caught thief has been identified as Rohit, a resident of Tilak Nagar, Bhargava camp. Who was taken into custody by the police late at night. Now the police will investigate the matter and take further action.

Sajan, a resident of the victim Bhargava camp, said that his friend’s bicycle was stolen about 15 days ago. In this regard, the complaint of the matter was given to the police of Bhargava camp. The police did not even register a case in this matter. Sajan said that he himself told the police the CCTV footage of the accused, his identity and home address. But still the police continued to avoid the matter. Sajan said that he himself went to the house of the accused several times, but could not find the house. On Sunday night, the said thief Sajan and his friend Bhargava met near the camp. After which the thief was garlanded.

Stolen motorcycle used to sell for 3500

The accused, Rohit, who was caught from the spot, admitted that he had stolen two bikes so far. One bike belonged to the Bhargava camp and the other to the Basti area. He sold the bicycle for 3500 to a scrap dealer in Ghas Mandi. There, the accused came on another bike and committed the incident. The accused admitted that a youth named Deep was also with him. The accused admitted that he is addicted to drugs, due to which he commits theft and robbery. Earlier he used to work for someone but then he was fired due to addiction.

Police Bid – Action will be taken after investigation

As soon as the incident was reported, the police party of Bhargava camp reached the spot for investigation. The police took possession of the goods stolen from the people and brought them to the police station. ASI Gopal Sharma, who reached the spot, said that the said accused are being interrogated based on the allegations of the people. Soon the stolen goods will be recovered and further action will be taken.
