Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the development projects, the Chief Minister said that ‘Jalandhar will shine with comprehensive development and progress’. He said that the Punjab government is working diligently to ensure the progress of the state and the prosperity of the people. Bhagwant Mann said that the victory of Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat has filled him with a more humble spirit to serve the people.
The Chief Minister said that although his MP from this Lok Sabha constituency has not taken oath yet, the works worth Rs. 100 crore have already started. He said that the work of Jalandhar-Adampur-Hoshiarpur road is already going on at war level. Bhagwant Mann said that the work of Jandiala-Guraya road will also start soon as its cleaning work has been done.
CM Mann said that the Punjab government is committed to the overall development of the state and especially of Jalandhar. He said that there is no dearth of funds for this noble work and the progress of the state will be boosted. Bhagwant Mann also said that after the completion of the Shahpur Kandhi project, the Bist-Doab canal will not have to face the crisis of water flow and 10,000 acres of land will come under canal water.
Mann’s turn on PM Modi
The Chief Minister challenged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to tell him where the 15 lakh rupees of each countryman went? He said that Modi has lost the eyes of the people through this political gimmick to gain power. Bhagwant Mann said that the Prime Minister is criticizing AAP for spending money for the welfare of the people, while his friends have looted public money from banks and fled abroad.
The Chief Minister said that Modi is against the interests of the common man due to which he has misused his central agencies to unnecessarily harass the leaders who started pro-people schemes. Citing an example of this, he said that Manish Sisodia, who revolutionized the field of education and benefited the common man, has been put behind bars. Similarly, Bhagwant Mann said that another leader who brought reforms in the health sector, Satinder Jain, was also imprisoned and harassed.
Appreciation of the works of ‘AAP’
He further said that the state government has taken many initiatives for the welfare of every section of the society. Bhagwant Mann said that his government is making tireless efforts for the convenience of the common people due to historic initiatives. Bhagwant Mann said that his government has given a big facility of 600 units of free electricity to the people. Similarly, the Chief Minister said that ‘Schools of Eminence’ are being established across the state to provide quality education to the students. He said that Aam Aadmi Clinics have been established in the state to provide free quality health services to the people. Bhagwant Mann said that more than 29000 government jobs have been given to the youth on the basis of merit.

Uninterrupted electricity to farmers
Also, Bhagwant Mann said that for the first time in the history of the state, the Punjab government has provided uninterrupted electricity to the farmers for the paddy season. He said that the state has enough coal to supply electricity to the people and the state government still has 52 days worth of coal in stock. Bhagwant Mann said that the state government is making all-out efforts to create a prosperous and progressive Punjab.
Local Government Minister Balkar Singh, Rajya Sabha Member Raghav Chadha and Baba Balbir Singh Seechewal, Lok Sabha Member Sushil Kumar Rinku and others were also present on this occasion.
