An international drug supply gang busted in Chandigarh, 6 accused arrested

Chandigarh Police have busted an international drug supplier. So far 6 people have been arrested in this case. The police have recovered 78 lakh 38 thousand 200 rupees, 108 grams of amphetamine ice, 200.48 grams of heroin, a country pistol and five live cartridges.

The police had already arrested the accused Shubham Jain resident of Sector-45 Chandigarh and Puneet Kumar resident of Ferozepur. The other four accused were arrested recently.

On July 24, the police arrested a drug smuggler named Shubham Jain. While interrogating him, the Punjab Police arrested ASI’s son Punit Kumar from Ferozepur with a country pistol. In Puneet Kumar’s interrogation, persons named Pawanpreet Singh, Ravinderpal Singh and Chandan were revealed. All of them used to supply drugs.

During the interrogation of Ravinder Pal Singh, the name of Jagjit alias Jagga came up. The police have taken him from Ferozepur Jail on a production warrant. He used to deal in drug trafficking while sitting in jail.

In questioning Jagga, the police found out that Ferozepur resident Simran Singh is the real mastermind of the drug racket. He is currently living in Melbourne, Australia. Pakistan’s drug smuggler Arif delivers drugs to India through Dongra and it is delivered to Pakistan through money transfer.

Accused Chandan used to receive the supply of drugs from Pakistan. Drugs used to be delivered to India by drones and bottled water by Pakistan. Chandan used to take the money and send it to Pakistan on the orders of Simran through hawala. Several cases are registered against the accused. A total of 7 cases are registered against Jagjit alias Jagga and 2 cases are already registered against Shubham Jain.
