Bureau Report: Within the month of May, there were three consecutive days of explosions one after the other near Amritsar Sri Darbar Sahib. The accused were arrested from Guru Ramdas Saran and explosive materials were also found. On the same day, SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami decided to make tight security arrangements inside and outside Darbar Sahib. In view of this, SGPC had decided to install scanners at all entry points to scan the goods, which has been started from Saturday.
Hourly scanner installed in the house
Inside Sri Darbar Sahib, a scanning machine has been installed on the clock tower side, through which the belongings of each pilgrim entering inside are being scanned and sent inside. In a few days, scanners will be installed at all entry points. The photo of the people entering with the luggage at the scanner area is also being captured inside the camera so that a strict watch is kept on everyone. From the day after the bomb blast, the SGPC had assigned the duty of male and female servicemen at all entry points to manually check the belongings of the people entering. But now with the advent of scanning machines, there is no scope for any kind of error. Apart from this, SGPC had also announced to arrange a scanner for the devotees which will soon be implemented at the ground level, after which the devotees will have to pass through the scanner. The devotees have appreciated this step of SGPC.
A big screen was installed.
The SGPC had earlier installed a big screen, the purpose of which was to inform people about the etiquette of visiting the Guru Ghar and also to make them aware of Sikh history. This decision was taken after a girl’s skirt controversy.
