Important news for the firearms license holders of District SAS Nagar

Arms License Holders: Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain said that all the firearms license holders of the district were informed by issuing a notice dated 08/09/2020 that as per the amendment made in section 3(2) of the Arms Act 1959, Amendment Act 2019, firearms license holders is allowed to keep only two weapons and the license holder who has registered 03 weapons on his license, to get the third weapon deleted/cancelled.

Now, according to the amendment made by the Punjab Government in Section 3(2) of the Amendment Act 2019 of the Arms Act 1959, it has been again instructed that the license holders who have not surrendered more than 2 firearms licenses should be surrendered immediately. .

There are still 23 license holders in District SAS Nagar, who have not deposited the third weapon from their license in the Delet/ Police Station, such license holders should delete their weapon within one week. Those who have NOC to sell the third weapon. If not received, they should immediately apply at the service center and deposit their third weapon in the concerned police station.

Action for cancellation/suspension of firearm license under Section 17(3) of the Arms Act, 1959 will be initiated against the firearms license holder who ignores or violates these orders.
