Illegal arms trafficking exposed by police, 10 smugglers arrested

Khanna Police has busted illegal arms smuggling from Madhya Pradesh to Punjab. The police have caught the illegal ammunition factory being run by the accused at home. Arms were supplied to Punjab from here. A total of 10 persons, including the accused who made weapons, have been arrested along with 22 illegal pistols. This breakthrough has led to the bust of two separate arms smuggling gangs.

SSP Amanit Kondal said that the operation started from December 1, when the Khanna police arrested Gurlal Singh Sajan resident of Hothian (Taran Taran) and Mandeep Singh resident of Jandiala Patti along with 4 illegal pistols during the blockade. During interrogation, the name of Rakshit Saini of Amritsar, to whom these weapons were to be supplied, came to light. After this, Rakshit Saini was brought on production warrant.

The accused disclosed that these weapons were brought from Abhinav Mishra alias Anuj resident of Khargon (Madhya Pradesh), Kamal Badole resident of Khargon (Madhya Pradesh) and Kuldeep Singh resident of Munawar (Madhya Pradesh). A special team was sent to Madhya Pradesh to arrest Abhinav. Abhinav was arrested on December 11. 2 pistols were recovered from him. Kamal Badole was arrested and 5 pistols were recovered. 5 pistols were also recovered from Kuldeep Singh.

SSP Kondal said that similarly on December 6, CIA staff arrested Tajinder Singh Sabi and Arjinder Singh John with illegal weapons. They may also have links with arms supply smugglers based in other states. An investigation is being conducted in this regard. 6 weapons have been recovered from both of them. Kuldeep Singh worked as an arms maker in Madhya Pradesh. They have already made and supplied weapons. More than 10 cases under the Arms Act have been registered against Kuldeep's father Prahlad Singh in Madhya Pradesh. Khanna police may also take action against Prahlad. The gang was so skilled that they made exotic weapons like pistols from scrap in their illegal home-based factory. These weapons were sold at asking prices.

Arms were being supplied especially to gangs of gangsters. A major incident in Punjab was to be carried out with weapons.
