ICC releases T-20 ranking list – On Air 13

Indian cricketer K.L. Rahul has slipped to 6th position in the latest T20I rankings released by the ICC. At the same time, Virat Kohli remains at 8th position. Rahul, who has scored half-centuries in India’s last three Twenty20 World Cups, has 727 points and has slipped one point.

Appointed vice-captain of the Indian Twenty20 cricket team, Rahul scored 69, 50 and 54 runs against Afghanistan, Scotland and Namibia respectively. India were eliminated from the Super-12 stage of the tournament. Rohit has slipped from 15th to 16th position.

Kohli, who relinquished the T20I captaincy after the tournament, remains in eighth position with 698 points. Only Rahul and Kohli from India are in the top 10 in the T20 rankings. Among other players, Australia’s Mitchell Marsh and David Warner have also significantly improved their rankings after playing a key role in their team’s first Twenty20 World Cup. Marsh, who scored an unbeaten 77 in the final against New Zealand, moved up six places to 13th overall, while Warner, who was named the best player of the tournament.

New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson, who scored 85 in the final, moved up seven places to 32nd, while Devon Conway jumped three places to fourth. Among the bowlers, Australian leg-spinner Adam Zampa has moved up two places to third, while pacer Josh Hazlewood has moved up two places to sixth.

Sri Lankan leg-spinner Vanindu Hasaranga remains at the top. There is no Indian bowler in the list of top-10 bowlers. Jaspreet Bumrah is in 15th position. England all-rounder Liam Livingstone has moved up seven places to third in the all-rounder’s list.
