Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mercedes-Benz India, said that the company is keeping an eye on the exchange rate of the euro and the rupee has weakened in comparison to it in the last few months. He said, in October one euro was about 78-79 rupees, which is now 87 rupees. This is increasing the pressure and if we do not take such a step then our business in India will be affected.
In such a situation, from April, the price of the company’s ‘A-Class Limousine’ will increase by Rs 2 lakh and the price of ‘GLA SUV KS 350d Limousine’ will increase by Rs 7 lakh. The price of ‘Mercedes-Maybach S 580’ will increase by Rs 12 lakh. (with language input)
